The Barbès Bar (pronounced "bar-bess") in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, is a
long-standing hot literary venue that has played host to readings by many well-known
authors including Paul Auster, Marty Beckerman, Thomas Beller, Beth Bosworth, Caren
Lissner, David Gates, E. Lockhart, Paul Greenberg, A.M. Homes, Chuck Klosterman,
Lawrence Krauser, David Rees, Nelly Reiffler, Darin Strauss, Dennis Nurske, Hal
Sirowitz, Amy Sohn, Zoe Trope, Lara Vapnyar, and Ned Vizzini.  Every first and third
Sunday at 6PM starting 9/18/05, three authors will take the stage and entertain you
absolutely free!

This fall, in the capable hands of Robyn Schneider and Jessica Liese, Barbès will
continue the tradition of presenting excellent writers from a variety of genres.  New for
this year, Robyn and Jess will be serving homemade cookies at each reading.

From Manhattan, Take the last car of the       train to 7th Avenue, Brooklyn. Exit at the
southwest corner exit.  Make a u-turn and walk downhill on 9th street towards 6th
Avenue. Barbès is on your left at 376 9th Street, a couple of stores in from the corner of
6th Avenue.
