The Barbès Bar (pronounced "bar-bess") in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, is a
long-standing hot literary venue that has played host to readings by many
well-known authors including Paul Auster, Marty Beckerman, Thomas Beller, Beth
Bosworth, Caren Lissner, David Gates, E. Lockhart, Paul Greenberg, A.M. Homes,
Chuck Klosterman, Lawrence Krauser, David Rees, Nelly Reiffler, Darin Strauss,
Dennis Nurske, Hal Sirowitz, Amy Sohn, Zoe Trope, Lara Vapnyar, and Ned Vizzini.  
Every first and third Sunday at 6PM starting 9/18/05, three authors will take the
stage and entertain you absolutely free!

Another free part of the Barbès Reading Series this year is freshly-baked cookies.  
Robyn and Jess are making it their duty to bring delicious homemade treats to each
reading.  Drinks, as always, are not free.
